Flammivoumous - vomiting flames as a volcano
Meeting Update: January 19th

This week, we discussed different 'workshops' we may have in the future, such as Short Story Workshops, Writing Workshops, and Film Workshops. We also discussed the possiblilty of a Reading Club- although everyone is very busy, if anyone wants to organize a literature circle of some sort, feel free!

We also established our new weekly "game," Words of the Week! (Yes, words in the plurar.. because one word isn't enough! :))
Names are drawn out of a group, and the person selected will get to choose 5 words from Mr. Kelly's gigantic dictionary, and I will post them on the blog.

Our next meeting is Wednesday, February 2nd.
Remember to attend your other clubs prior to coming to English H.S. We'll be here! :)

Meeting Update: December 15th

At Wednesday's meeting, we decided that it would be easiest just to keep Wednesday as our meeting day.
That being said, if you have other club obligations (LOTE honor societies, science olympiad, ect.), please go to the other clubs before coming to English Honor Society. I am also an officer in Spanish Honor Society, so that is where I will be on Wednesdays prior to our meetings.
We also agreed that we will have activities and food for the people who stay at the meeting! Please make your best effort to come to and stay a little while at the meetings. They will probably around 2:15, give or take.
If you are part of a sports team, don't fret! You can stay connected and involved through the blog and by talking with the officers/other members.

Our next meeting is Wednesday, December 22nd.
Hope to see you all there!

Meeting Update: December 8th

If you weren't at the meeting on Wednesday, you probably wouldn't be reading this right now. At the last meeting, we basically just introduced all of our new officers, spoke a little about what we want to do with this club, I metioned the blog, and everyone had to leave, so if you missed it, you didn't miss too much.

Our officers for the 2010-2011 year are:

Julia Becker (me!) - President
Caitlin Fredricks - Vice President
Christine Davis - Historian
Taylor Trentadue - Secretary
Jessica Haller - Treasurer

This year, let's pull together as a group and make things happen. Last year, we were somewhat ambitious, but due to the lack of people at the meetings, we weren't really able to accomplish as much as we wanted to.
So, for the next meeting, I would like everyone to think about changing the date we meet from Wednesdays to Tuesdays. I know that a lot of people have LOTE Honor Societies on Wednesdays, and I believe DECA is on Tuesdays, but whichever date will allow for the majority of the group to be at will be the day we meet.

Please remind others to join the blog! You can also join the Facebook group for updates.
Our next meeting is Wednesday, December 15th.
